REUTERS - Following is the weather report detailed by India Meteorological Department.
CHIEF FEATURES
A low pressure area has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal & coastal areas of north Andhra Pradesh. Under its influence, widespread rainfall with scattered heavy to very heavy falls is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hrs. Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls also likely to commence over Telangana, Orissa and Chhattisgarh from tomorrow onwards.
The current meteorological analysis suggests that rainfall activity likely to remain subdued over northwest and adjoining central India and Rajasthan during next 3-4 days.
In association with an off-shore trough widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely along the West coast during next 3 days.
The axis of the monsoon trough passes through Anupgarh, Gwalior, Satna, Champa, Titlagarh and centre of low pressure area.
NORTHWEST INDIA
[J & K, H. P., UTTARAKHAND, PUNJAB, HARYANA , DELHI, WEST UP]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Uttarakhand and isolated over the rest region.
EAST INDIA
[EAST UP, BIHAR, JHARKHAND, WEST BENGAL & SIKKIM, ORISSA]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Orissa during next 24 hrs. and increase thereafter. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Jharkhand during next 48 hrs. and increase thereafter.
NORTHEAST INDIA
[Arunachal Pradesh, NMM &T, Assam, Meghalaya,]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over the region.
SOUTH INDIA
[TN, AP, KERALA, KARNATAKA, ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS, LAKSHADWEEP]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at most places over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Rain/thundershowers are likely at most places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hrs. and decrease thereafter.
WEST INDIA
[GOA, MAHARASHTRA (OTHER THAN VIDARBHA), GUJARAT, RAJASTHAN]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at most places over Konkan & Goa. Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over Madhya Maharashtra south
Gujarat.
CENTRAL INDIA
[M. P., CHHATTISGARH, VIDARBHA]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Chhattisgarh during next 24 hrs. and increase thereafter. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Vidarbha during next 48 hrs. and increase thereafter.

Scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hrs.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfalls also likely over Telangana, Orissa and Chhattisgarh on 2nd & 3rd September.
