JERUSALEM Jan 20 (Reuters) - Israel's Harel Insurance and Investments (HARL.TA) said on Sunday it had received approval from Israel's anti-trust authority to begin a venture involving issuing credit cards.

Harel last May had agreed to a deal with Israel Credit Cards (ICC) after it sold its 5 percent stake in ICC to Israel Discount Bank (DSCT.TA) and First International Bank of Israel FTIN5.TA. Discount owns about 72 percent of ICC and FIBI owns the other 28 percent.
