TABLE-Kazakhstan's trade surplus rises to $21 bln

ALMATY, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's foreign trade surplus widened to $20.97 billion in January-July from $7.60 billion in the same period of last year, the State Statistics Agency said on Monday.

The agency said the Central Asian state's exports rose 64.7 percent in the first seven months of the year, while imports grew 17.5 percent.

Countries of the former Soviet bloc accounted for 15.8 percent of Kazakh exports and 46.6 percent of imports in the period.

Russia remained the main trading partner with 8.9 percent of all Kazakh exports and 37.5 percent of imports. (Editing by Swaha Pattanaik)
