LONDON (Reuters) - World stocks tumbled on Friday, with the benchmark world index falling to its lowest level in 5 years as Europe joined a panic sell-off in Asian stocks.

The MSCI world equity index fell more than 4 percent to its lowest since October 2003. Emerging stocks fell 4.2 percent to a three-year low.
