JERUSALEM | Fri Nov 28, 2008 7:41pm IST

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The bodies of five hostages were found on Friday after Indian security forces attacked gunmen at a Jewish religious centre in Mumbai, an Israeli diplomat told Israeli television by telephone from the scene.

A spokesman for an Israeli religious emergency service, ZAKA, said a further two bodies of gunmen were found.

"The incident has not ended," Israeli diplomat Haim Choshen told Channel 2. "Five bodies of hostages have been found inside the Chabad House. We still don't know whose bodies."

ZAKA spokesman Motti Bukchin, quoting colleagues at the scene, told the same station: "We now know about the bodies of five hostages, and another two bodies of terrorists."
