MUMBAI |
MUMBAI Feb 26 (Reuters) - Drug maker Wockhardt Ltd (WCKH.BO) said on Thursday it has secured U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to sell an alcohol-free syrup of ranitidine hydrochloride, used to treat ulcers and hyper-acidity.
Ranitidine is the generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK.L) Zantac, the company said in a statement.
The U.S. market for the syrup is worth $51 million, the release said.
Wockhardt also said it has secured tentative approval for an alcholol-containing formulation of ranitidine. (Reporting by Bharghavi Nagaraju; editing by Rohini Ananthan)
