TOKYO, March 27 | Fri Mar 27, 2009 8:26am IST

TOKYO, March 27 (Reuters) - Japanese oil firm AOC Holdings (5017.T) said on Friday it would acquire a 10 percent stake in PL332 block in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea from Canada's Talisman Energy (TLM.TO).

AOC said the block is located about 20 km (12 miles) east of Gyda oil field, with current crude oil output of about 10,000 barrels per day, in which AOC has a 5 percent stake.

An AOC spokesman declined to comment on the acquisition cost.

Operator Talisman, which will reduce its stake in the block to 40 percent after the deal, and its partners plan to drill a trial well in the future.

The transaction is subject to approval by the Norwegian government.

AOC announced last month it would buy 10 percent stakes in two oil blocks in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea from Talisman Energy. [ID:nT85798] (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori; Editing by Rodney Joyce)
