UPDATE 1-Dawson says News International terminates contract
* Turnover was expected at about 30 mln stg from July
* Contract to be terminated almost immediately (Adds details)
June 19 (Reuters) - Newspaper and magazine distributor Dawson Holdings Plc DWN.L said on Friday News International Distribution Ltd would stop using its services "almost immediately", adding to the spate of contract losses for the company in the recent past.
Dawson said the news was disappointing, adding it had anticipated the turnover from the contract to be about 30 million pounds ($49.05 million) from July.
The loss of the contract comes on the heels of moves by other distributors like Marketforce and Trinity Mirror saying they will not be renewing their contracts with Dawson.
In early April this year, Dawson announced yet another contract loss when Telegraph Media Group was expected to terminate its deal in autumn 2009. The contract had generated 52 million pounds in revenue in the earlier financial year.
Dawson also lost deals from Associated Newspapers and COMAG, which were worth 139 million pounds in the last financial year. [nLO180851].
On Thursday Dawson shares closed at 7 pence on the London Stock Exchange. ($1=.6116 Pound) (Reporting by Austin Lobo in Bangalore; Editing by Kavita Chandran)
