Mexico's Castillo joins Ukraine's Dnipro on loan

KIEV | Thu Jul 30, 2009 9:23pm IST

KIEV (Reuters) - UEFA Cup holders Shakhtar Donetsk have loaned Mexican international forward Nery Castillo to Ukrainian league rivals Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for a year, Dnipro said on Thursday.

"He will be the first Mexican player in our club's history," Dnipro said on their website (www.fcdnipro.dp.ua), adding that Castillo could make his Dnipro debut against Zarja Lugansk on Saturday.

Castillo joined Shakhtar from Greek club Olympiakos Piraeus for 15 million pounds ($30.28 million) in July 2007 but spent the following year on loan to Manchester City.
