UPDATE 1-Two Mexico oil ports shut on bad weather
(Updates with Coatzacoalcos closing again, background)
MEXICO CITY Nov 5 (Reuters) - Mexico's Coatzacoalcos and Dos Bocas oil terminals, which have been out of operation for much of the week due to bad weather, were closed on Thursday, the government said.
Coatzacoalcos, which reopened Thursday morning, closed again in the afternoon as high waves made port operations unsafe.
The nearby Dos Bocas oil port remained closed all day due to high waves, the government said.
Both ports -- which together handle close to 22 percent of Mexico's oil exports -- are on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
Mexico's main crude oil export terminal Cayo Arcas, which is also located on the Gulf Coast, was operating normally on Thursday and has so far not been affected by the bad weather.
Prolonged port closures can cause logistical problems for state oil monopoly Pemex which has little storage capacity and in the past the company has been forced to temporarily curtail oil production because of drawn out shutdowns. (Reporting by Robert Campbell; Editing by David Gregorio)
