Man United's Macheda agrees contract extension
LONDON |
LONDON (Reuters) - Teenage Italian striker Federico Macheda has agreed a four-year contract extension at Manchester United, the Premier League champions said on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old Italy under-21 international, who joined United from Serie A club Lazio in September 2008, has signed to stay at the club until at least June 2014.
"We're delighted by the new four-year deal, manager Alex Ferguson said on United's website (www.manutd.com). "Everyone at the club recognises the fantastic talent he has and we hope to see that develop in the next years, so he becomes a well rounded player."
