ISTANBUL Feb 25 (Reuters) - Turkish prosecutors on Thursday released former chiefs of the country's air force and navy after questioning them in connection with an alleged plot to topple the Islamist-rooted government, broadcasters reported.

There was no immediate mention of whether the two, detained on Monday, may nevertheless face charges. Some 20 senior military officers have already been charged and remanded in custody this week over the suspected 2003 conspiracy. (Writing by Daren Butler)
