Iranian scientist came freely to U.S.-official
WASHINGTON, July 13 |
WASHINGTON, July 13 (Reuters) - An Iranian nuclear scientist who turned up at the Iranian interests section of Pakistan's embassy in Washington came to the United States voluntarily and decided to leave freely, a U.S. official said on Tuesday.
Shahram Amiri's "actions -- his multiple videos and now his trip to the Iranian interests section -- clearly prove he was not held in the United States against his will," the official said on condition of anonymity. (Reporting by Tabassum Zakaria; Editing by Sandra Maler)
