Ford India to export Figo to 50 new mkts from India

NEW DELHI Aug 26 (Reuters) - U.S.-based Ford Motor Co's (F.N) India unit will begin exporting its compact Figo to 50 new markets from India starting next year, Joe Hinrichs, President, Asia Pacific and Africa said on Thursday.

A company statement said that it would be export Figo to north African countries and the United Aarab Emirates.

Ford launched its compact Figo car in India earlier this year and it has become a best-seller for the company. Its sales in the period January to July stood at 46,751 units, with bulk of the sales coming from the Figo.
