Citgo reports Corpus Christi flare upset -filing

HOUSTON, Sept 7 | Wed Sep 8, 2010 4:04am IST

HOUSTON, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Citgo Petroleum Corp reported malfunctions of flare gas recovery compressors in the east plant of its 163,000 barrel per day (bpd) Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery on Sunday, according to a notice filed with Texas pollution regulators.

Either of the compressors can recover flare gases for the east plant, but with both under repair additional gases will be sent to the flare system, according to the notice filed with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

One of the compressors may be back by Sept 8, according to the notice. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
