VALENCIA, Spain | Wed Nov 10, 2010 12:23am IST

VALENCIA, Spain (Reuters) - Former world champion Valentino Rossi managed 56 laps on his new Ducati bike at the first post-season MotoGP test on Tuesday.

The Italian, who has left Yamaha for his compatriot team, was asked not to push the Ducati too hard given the 2011 version is not fully ready.

Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo took the world title from Rossi this season and again showed his form by topping the timesheets in the test.

Casey Stoner was also in action with Honda having finished his Ducati deal after Sunday's final race of the season in Valencia.
