Air India to proceed with Dreamliner purchases-minister

NEW DELHI, March 20 (Reuters) - State-run Air India will proceed with its purchase of 27 of Boeing Co's 787 Dreamliner aircraft, India's Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said on Tuesday.

Air India has placed an order with Boeing for as many as 50 long-range aircraft.

The cash-strapped airline is negotiating for nearly $1 billion as compensation from Boeing for delayed aircraft delivery.
