LAURUS-VALENS

Laurus-Valens, an investment management firm specializing in small and micro capitalization companies, said Kendall Raine has joined as a partner and senior managing director. Prior to joining Laurus-Valens, Raine served as managing director in the investment banking department of A. G. Edwards.

FORTIS PRIVATE BANKING

The UK-based private bank appointed Gary Hobbs and Guy Ellison as senior analysts within FPB's London-based research team.

CLAIMS PEOPLE

The insurance claims facility promoted Gordon Vater to the group's main board as an executive director with immediate effect. Vater, who joined the group in 2000, will continue with his primary responsibilities for both the i-team consultancy and claims people recruitment divisions.
