Gazprom says fails to reach deal with Ukraine
MOSCOW, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Russia's gas export monopoly Gazprom (GAZP.MM: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday it had failed to reach a deal with Ukraine over a $1.5 billion debt for previous gas supplies and said it was committed to cut shipments from next week.
"The meeting showed a complete unpreparedness on the Ukrainian side to discuss the problem," Gazprom said in a statement following talks with Igor Didenko, first deputy head of Ukraine's state energy firm Naftogaz. (Reporting by Dmitry Zhdannikov; editing by Christian Lowe)
