Japan, S. Korea firms win $8 bln Kuwait projects
KUWAIT, May 11 (Reuters) - Kuwait awarded refinery projects worth a total $8 billion to Japanese and South Korean firms, with Japan's JGC Corp (1963.T: Quote, Profile, Research) and GS Engineering (006360.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) of Korea winning a $4 billion package, state news agency KUNA reported.
It awarded a $2 billion project to SK Engineering (096770.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) of South Korea, while the country's Daelim (000210.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) won a $1.2 billion project, KUNA said.
Hyundai Engineering (000720.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) of South Korea won a $1.1 billion project, the agency said.
Another project was won by U.S. firm Fluor (FLR.N: Quote, Profile, Research), KUNA said without giving its value.
