ABS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

Greenwich, Connecticut-based hedge fund of funds group ABS Investment opened an investment research office in Hong Kong, its first overseas location. Donald Leung, a partner who joined the firm as an investment analyst in 2004, will run the Hong Kong office.

COLUMBIA MANAGEMENT

Bank of America's Columbia Management arm, which invests $643.5 billion, promoted Robert McConnaughey as head of equity. He joined the company in 2002 and had previously been director of Columbia Management's Fundamental Equity Research.

INFINITI CAPITAL

Asset management group Infiniti Capital, a unit of Infiniti Group, appointed Xavier Fanjaud as head of qualitative research, promoting him to the position after he specialized in qualitative research in Asia. Fanjaud will be based in Zurich.
