U.S. view on strong dollar unchanged-U.S. Treasury
WASHINGTON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - A senior U.S. Treasury department official on Tuesday said that he expects Group of Seven finance chiefs to discuss currency issues at a weekend meeting in Tokyo and said U.S. strong-dollar views are unchanged.
"With regard to the dollar, the Secretary has commented on it on a number of occasions just in the past couple of weeks, so I'd refer you to his comments on the dollar," Treasury Undersecretary David McCormick said.
"They're consistent with what they have been for some time," he added, referring to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's repeated assertions that a strong dollar was in the U.S. national interest. (Reporting by Glenn Somerville; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
