PARIS (Reuters) - French utilities group Suez (LYOE.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it had shortlisted European power groups EDF (EDF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), ENI (ENI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) and EON EONG.DE as potential buyers of its majority stake in Belgium's Distrigas.

A decision will be made before the end of June 2008, "in line with the undertaking given to the European Commission in order that the disposal can proceed as soon as the merger between Suez and Gaz de France GAZ.PA is completed," the statement said.

Suez has agreed to sell off its 57 percent Distrigas stake to meet European Union competition concerns about its plans for a merger with Gaz de France.
