Air France says board approved end to Alitalia talks
PARIS (Reuters) - Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday said its board had approved ending takeover talks with the struggling Italian carrier Alitalia (AZPIa.MI: Quote, Profile, Research).
Air France said it was now up to Alitalia's unions to spell out how they saw the future of the Italian company.
"The board took note of the breaking off talks and understood and approved the reasons for the situation," Air France-KLM said in a statement.
