France's Bouygues denies building up Alstom stake

PARIS (Reuters) - France's Bouygues (BOUY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) on Wednesday said it wished to keep its holding in engineering group Alstom (ALSO.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) at the same level in response to market speculation it was increasing its stake.

A spokeswoman for the French construction and telecoms group said Bouygues had bought at the start of April "a few thousand" Alstom shares in order to keep its holding steady at around 30 percent and avoid getting diluted.
