Unions want Air France-KLM to buy all Alitalia units
ROME (Reuters) - Alitalia (AZPIa.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) unions want Air France-KLM to buy all of the Italian airline's operations including its ground service unit not included in the deal, in return for their backing the Franco-Dutch airline's takeover.
Alitalia's unions say Italian government holding Fintecna could continue to hold its 49 percent stake in Alitalia's troubled ground service unit AZ Servizi as part of their proposal.
They also want Air France-KLM to keep Alitalia's cargo unit alive for the entire duration of the business plan and bring forward plans to overhaul the airline's fleet.
The list of conditions were issued in a joint statement by eight unions which have been in talks with the airlines.
