GM says to close Windsor plant employing 1,400

TORONTO (Reuters) - GM Canada (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Monday it plans to close its Windsor transmission plant in the second quarter of 2010, when its current four-speed front wheel drive transmission production mandates are completed.

The plant currently employs about 1,400 employees, the company said.
