Credit Suisse appoints India wealth management head

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Credit Suisse has appointed Puneet Matta as head of its wealth management business in India, it said on Monday.

Prior to this, Matta was country business manager of Citibank's Indian operations, Credit Suisse said in a statement.

In India, Credit Suisse recently launched its brokerage operations, got a merchant banking license and filed an application for a portfolio management license, the statement said.

The Swiss bank also plans to serve high networth individuals and institutional clients in India, the statement said.
