NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's No. 2 mobile operator, Reliance Communications, may announce a network management joint venture with French-American telecoms equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent, a source familiar with the situation said on Monday.

Reliance has called a news conference at 3:30 p.m. to share a "significant development".

The Hindustan Times newspaper, quoting telecommunications industry sources, said on Monday Reliance was set to form an equal joint-venture with Alcatel-Lucent to outsource the management of its telecom networks.
