GNFC shuts ammonia, urea plants due to tech snags
MUMBAI (Reuters) - Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co Ltd (GNFC) said on Saturday it shut several manufacturing units, including those making ammonia and urea, due to technical problems at its ammonia unit.
Operations at other units making methyl formate, formic acid, acetic acid, ammonium nitrophosphate and toluene di-isocynate have been stopped due to the glitch that hit the Ammonia unit on July 3, Gujarat Narmada said in a statement.
The company said it expects to stabilise operations at all these plants in 8 to 10 days.
No-one was injured, the company added.
