BSE Sensex opens up 0.36 pct, then extend gains
MUMBAI (Reuters) – The BSE Sensex opened up 0.36 percent on Friday and quickly extended gains to nearly 2 percent despite sharp falls in global markets.
Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel led the gains.
At 9:58 a.m., the 30-share BSE index was up 1.38 percent, at 8,567.64, with 28 of its components gaining. The index has fallen for the past seven days
The 50-issue NSE index rose 1.67 percent to 2,595.75.
