Toronto stock index jumps 120 points at open

TORONTO, May 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index roared higher early on Friday as energy and materials shares continued to benefit from robust commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 120.39 points, or 0.8 percent, at 14,948.45 with the energy sector up 1.7 percent and the materials sector up 1.9 percent.
