China allows insurers to invest in domestic certificates of deposit

BEIJING, Nov 7 (Reuters) - China's insurance regulator has allowed insurance funds to invest in domestically issued certificates of deposit (CD), including interbank CDs and large-denomination CDs, a spokesman for the regulator told Reuters on Monday.

The move is aimed at broadening investment channels for insurance companies, the spokesman said by telephone. (Reporting By Beijing Finance Team; Editing by Kim Coghill)
