Indian rupee weakens, bond yields slip ahead of budget
MUMBAI, July 6 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee edged lower in early deals on Monday as investors pared positions ahead of the 2009/10 federal budget to be presented at 11 a.m. (0530 GMT).
At 9:07 a.m. (0337 GMT), the partially convertible rupee INR=IN was at 47.96/97 per dollar, weaker than Friday's close of 47.89/91.
The 6.07 percent bond maturing in 2014 IN060714G=CC which was the most actively traded on Monday eased to 6.21 percent from 6.23 percent at the close on Friday. (Reporting by V. Ramakrishnan; Editing by Ramya Venugopal)
