Indian shares provisionally close up 1.5 pct
MUMBAI, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Indian shares erased early losses and provisionally rose 1.5 percent on Friday, with banks and Reliance Industries (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) leading the gains, as investor confidence was helped by higher European markets.
The 30-share BSE index .BSESN provisionally ended up 1.47 percent or 246.60 points at 17,032.25 with 26 components gaining. It fell as much as 0.9 percent earlier.
The 50-share NSE index .NSEI provisionally closed up 1.4 percent at 5,059.95. (Reporting by Ami Shah)
