India plans 30 pct hike in gas price - papers
MUMBAI, Nov 14 (Reuters) - India's petroleum ministry has proposed raising the price of natural gas produced by state-run firms such as Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and Oil India (OILI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) by more than 30 percent, newspapers said on Saturday.
The ministry has moved a Cabinet note to raise the price to $2.4 per million British thermal unit from $1.8 now, financial dailies The Economic Times and Business Standard reported citing unnamed sources. (Reporting by Nishant Kumar; Editing by Alex Richardson)
