Explosion rocks Sri Lanka capital Colombo, 35 wounded

COLOMBO, Aug 30 (Reuters) - At least 35 people were wounded when a bomb exploded in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo's commercial area on Saturday, the military and doctors said.

"There had been an explosion in Fort, no details as the military is rushing to the scene," Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nnayakkara told Reuters referring to Colombo's business area.

Doctors said 35 people had been admitted to the national hospital with injuries. (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by Valerie Lee)
