Nine dead in Pakistan blast after election rally
ISLAMABAD, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Nine people were killed in northwest Pakistan on Saturday in a blast near the office of an election candidate supported by assassinated opposition leader Benazir Bhutto's party, Dawn Television said.
A resident in the town of Parachinar, in the Kurram region on the Afghan border, said the explosion occurred as the candidate's supporters were going into his office following an election rally. He said he saw limbs scattered on the ground.
Dawn Television reported that nine people had been killed in the blast. (Reporting by Zeeshan Haider; Editing by Catherine Evans)
