BERLIN, April 10 (Reuters) - A German humanitarian agency said on Thursday two of its Afghan workers had gone missing in Afghanistan, and may have been kidnapped.

Kinderberg International said its medical director in Afghanistan, Abdul Rab, and his driver Abdul Hafiz went missing after leaving Kabul for the northeastern city of Kunduz on Tuesday. Their empty vehicle was found 60 km (37 miles) from Kabul.

"So far there has been no trace of the missing men or of any possible perpetrators," Kinderberg said in a statement.

The group said its activities in Afghanistan had been suspended since the suspected kidnapping and that Afghan security officials were investigating the incident.

Germany's Foreign Ministry could not immediately be reached for a comment.

Stuttgart-based Kinderberg describes itself as an organisation that has been helping provide basic medical care for women and children in Afghanistan since 2002. (Reporting by Dave Graham; editing by Sami Aboudi)
