US STOCKS-Market extends gains after manufacturing data

NEW YORK, Feb 1 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks added to gains on Friday, with the S&P 500 rising more than 1 percent, after data showing U.S. factory activity in January rose more than expected, easing worries about earlier weak jobs data.
The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 105.84 points, or 0.84 percent, at 12,756.20. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 15.57 points, or 1.13 percent, at 1,394.12. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 24.78 points, or 1.04 percent, at 2,414.64. (Reporting by Caroline Valetkevitch; Editing by Kenneth Barry)
