US STOCKS-Nasdaq gains 3 pct; Google leads advance

NEW YORK, April 18 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq added to gains in afternoon trading on Friday, rising 3 percent, as strong earnings from Google Inc (GOOG.O: Quote, Profile, Research) ignited a rally in Internet stocks.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 267.06 points, or 2.12 percent, to 12,887.55. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 29.77 points, or 2.18 percent, at 1,395.33.
