Nikkei dips, Aeon down on report of quarterly loss

TOKYO, July 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average edged down 0.8 percent on Monday, with retailer Aeon (8267.T: Quote, Profile, Research) falling 1.2 percent after the Nikkei business daily said the firm likely logged a 2 billion yen ($20.83 million) net loss for the March-May quarter. The Nikkei fell .N225 73.44 points to 9,742.63.

The broader Topix .TOPX fell 0.6 percent to 915.47. (Reporting by Masayuki Kitano)
