WELLINGTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Asian stocks are set to post
cautious gains on Monday after Wall St finished last week in
positive territory.
The main U.S. share indices closed up to 0.3 percent higher
on Friday, as an upgrade for bellwether General Electric (GE.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
outweighed poor employment data.
British and European shares also closed up to 0.3 percent
higher, with banks leading the gains, with miners supported as
gold rose to a record price above $1,100 an ounce. For more see

Japanese shares are expected to open firmer with Nikkei
futures traded in Chicago 2NKc1 40 points above the last
closing level in Osaka JNIc1.
However Japanese stocks may be buffeted by a firmer yen
JPY=, which rose with the U.S. dollar after the non-farm
payrolls report on Friday showed the unemployment rate at 10.2
percent in the world's largest economy. [ID:nN04495174]
Australian stocks are also set to rise, with share index
futures YAPcm1 at 4,605, a 11 point premium to the underlying
S&P/ASX 200 index's close on Friday.
Oil prices CLc1 slumped almost 3 percent as the U.S. jobs
report sparked fears of lower demand.
