NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Australia named Cameron White on Saturday to replace injured fellow leg spinner Bryce McGain in the squad for the four-test series in India starting next week.

White, 25, also a useful lower-order batsman, captained Australia A to a tri-series win in India last month.

The Victoria all rounder, who has played 21 one-dayers and two Twenty20 games, will join the side ahead of the first test starting in Bangalore on Thursday, a team statement said.

McGain was sent home on Friday because of a shoulder injury, dashing his hopes of making his test debut at the age of 36 to prop up Australia's weak spin attack.
