  Jul 02 (Reuters) - Following is the weather report
detailed by India Meteorological Department
CHIEF FEATURES
(Based on 0830 hours IST observations)
The upper air cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh &
adjoining areas of north Madhya Pradesh persists and extends
upto mid tropospheric level. Under its influence, fairly
widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls  is
likely over East Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh during
next 2-3 days.
The off shore trough extending from Gujarat coast to Kerala
coast with an embedded cyclonic circulation over northeast
Arabian Sea has caused heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan
& Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra. The current
meteorological analysis suggests  decrease in rainfall
intensity during next 24 hours.
The current meteorological analysis also suggests  subdued
rainfall activity over northwest India and interior peninsular
India during next 2-3 days. Forecast valid upto 0830 hours IST
of 5th July, 2008

Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over West Uttar
Pradesh and Uttarakhand and  mainly dry weather over the rest
region. EAST INDIA [EAST UP, JHARKHAND, BIHAR, ORISSA,, WEST
BENGAL & SIKKIM]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over East
Uttar Pradesh and at a few places over the rest region.
NORTHEAST INDIA [Arunachal Pradesh, NMM & T,  Assam,
Meghalaya,]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over the
region. SOUTH INDIA [TN, AP, KERALA,, KARNATAKA, LAKSHADWEEP,
ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places  over Andaman
& Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over
Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over the rest region
outside Andhra Pradesh where the weather will be mainly dry.
WEST INDIA [GOA, MAHARASHTRA (OTHER THAN VIDARBHA), GUJARAT,
RAJASTHAN]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over Konkan &
Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra.
Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Madhya
Maharashtra and north Gujarat region.
Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over the rest
region. CENTRAL INDIA [M.P., CHHATTISGARH, VIDARBHA]
Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over north
Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh and at a few places over
the rest region. Warning (next 48 hours):
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan
& Goa, south Gujarat Region and Saurashtra, Coastal Karnataka,
East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and northeastern
states. Weather Outlook from  0830 IST of  5th  July  to 0830
IST of 7th  July, 2008 (Based on numerical weather products):
Increase in rainfall activity over West Madhya Pradesh,
Rajasthan and north Gujarat.
Subdued rainfall activity is likely to continue over
interior peninsula. Note: 'TRACE' means that rain fell but
