Nagpur, May 10 (Reuters) Prices of selected edible oil
continued to rise in Vidarbha region on Western Maharashtra
today on increased demand by local parties. Upward trend on
international oil market, inadequate supply from local crushing
plants and fresh rise in Madhya Pradesh oil prices also helped
to push up prices. Soya oil also attracted buying support from
speculators and shot up to record notable gains, sources said
Saturday.

VIDARBHA MARKETS

OILS

* Soya and Cottonseed oil zoomed up again in Vidarbha on
good demand from

speculators. Banning of Vaida trading from government
helped crushing

plants to quote their prices, boosting oil prices in all
over Vidarbha,

according to sources.

* Linseed and rapessed oil also zoomed up in Vidarbha on
good demand

from local traders amid weak supply from local crushing
plants. Notable

hike in Madhya Pradesh soya oil prices also boosted
sentiment.

* Groundnut loose, Groundnut refined, Sunflower refined,
Castor and

Coconut KP oil ruled steady in thin trading activity.

* Traders expect further rise in Soya and Cotton oil in
Vidarbha.

SOYMEAL

* Prices showed firm tendency on good demand from
South-based traders.

About three dollar per tonne hike in international
soymeal prices also

boosted sentiment.

SOYABEAN

* Soybean prices in the Nagpur Agriculture Produce and
Marketing Committee

(APMC) reported strong in Vidarbha on good buying support
from local

crushing plants. Strong rise in soya oil, notable hike in
soymeal and

restricted supply from producing region also boosted
prices. Upward trend

in Madhya Pradesh soya prices and enquiries from
South-based crushing

plants also helped to push up prices.

* About 2,000 bags reported for auction in major soya mandi
in

Vidarbha, sources said Saturday.
