Monsoon Watch
Conditions are favourable for withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining parts of east India and northeastern states during next 2 days. Main Features (based on 0830 hrs IST Observations)
Weather is likely to be mainly dry over most parts of the country outside south peninsular India where isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers is likely during next 2-3 days.
The maximum temperatures are 1-3°C above normal over many parts of the country.
The minimum temperatures are above normal by 3-6°C over Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh and below normal by 2-3°C over most parts of Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. They are nearly normal over the rest of the country.
The minimum temperatures are likely to fall by about 3-4°C over Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during next 2-3 days.
KALPANA-1 Cloud Imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and north Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Rajasthan, northeastern states and peninsular India.
