Oct 03(Reuters) - Following is the weather report detailed by
India
 Monsoon Watch
 The well marked low pressure area over Telangana &
neighbourhood persists.
 Chief amounts of rainfall (? 4 cm) recorded at 0830 hours
IST of today are: Karwar-43, Dabolim-29, Panjim-26,
Marmugao-21, Kannur-16, Agumbe-15, Honavar-14, Ratnagiri-12,
Mayabander-10, Jharsuguda-9, Shirali-8, Kozhikode, Satna and
Jabalpur-6 each, Rewa, Gopalpur, Punalur, Kochi, Tuni and
Satara-5 each, Alappuzha, Sangli, Raipur and Chandrapur-4 each.
 Main Features (based on 0830 hrs IST Observations)
 Widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at a few
places & isolated extremely heavy falls(>25cm) is likely over
Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.
 Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very
heavy falls also likely over remaining parts of Maharashtra,
interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar
Islands during next 24 hours.
 KALPANA-1 Cloud Imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective
clouds over Andaman Sea, Andhra Pradesh, south Maharashtra,
Karnataka and eastcentral & southeast Arabian Sea. Low/medium
clouds are seen over remaining parts of peninsular India.
 Forecast valid upto 0830 hours IST of 6th October, 2009

 Rain/thundershowers at a few places over the region.
 NORTHEAST INDIA

 SOUTH INDIA

 Rain/thundershowers at most places over Karnataka, Kerala,
Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar islands during the rest 48
hours and decrease thereafter.
 Rain/thundershowers at a many places over Andhra Pradesh
and Tamilnadu during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
 WEST INDIA
 [KONKAN & GOA, MARATHAWADA, MADHYA MAHARASHTRA, GUJARAT
REGION, SAURASHTRA & KUTCH]
 Rain/thundershowers at many places over Maharashtra and Goa
during next 48 hours and decrease thereafter.
 Isolated rain/thundershowers over Gujarat region.
 Mainly dry weather over Saurashtra & Kutch.
 CENTRAL INDIA
 [M.P, CHHATTISGARH, VIDARBHA]
 Rain/thundershowers at a many places over Vidarbha and
Chhattisgarh.
 Isolated rain/thundershowers over Madhya Pradesh during
next 24 hours and increase thereafter.
 WARNING:
 Isolated extremely heavy rainfall (>25 cm) likely over
Konkan, Goa and Karnataka during next 24hours.
 Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over
remaining parts of Maharashtra, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman
& Nicobar Islands during next 24 hrs.
 Weather Outlook from 0830 hrs IST of 6th October to 0830
hrs IST of 8th October, 2009:
 A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over
westcentral Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 6th October.
