Aug 29(Reuters) - Following is the weather report detailed by
India Meteorological Department:
 CHIEF FEATURES (Based on 0830 hours IST observations)
 The axis of monsoon trough continues to run close to
foothills of the Himalayas. Under this scenario, fairly
widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy
rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya
and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 48 hours.
 Yesterday's cyclonic circulation over north Tamil Nadu and
adjoining South Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema in lowers
levels persists.  Under its influence fairly widespread
rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls is likely over
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during
next 2-3 days.
 Subdued rainfall activity likely to continues over the
central parts of the country during next 2-3 days.
 Forecast valid upto 0830 hours IST of 1st September, 2008

 Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 48 hours and
decease thereafter.
 Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over Bihar
and Jharkhand during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
 Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over
Gangetic  West Bengal and East Uttar Pradesh and isolated over
the rest region.
 NORTHEAST INDIA

 Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over the
region during next 48 hours and decrease thereafter.
 SOUTH INDIA
 [TN, AP, KERALA,, KARNATAKA, LAKSHADWEEP, ANDAMAN & NICOBAR
ISLANDS]
 Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over Tamil
Nadu & Puducherry, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Kerala
and Lakshadweep.
 Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over North
Interior Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
 Isolated rain/thundershowers is likely over the rest
region.
 WEST INDIA
 [GOA, MAHARASHTRA (OTHER THAN VIDARBHA), GUJARAT,
RAJASTHAN]
 Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places over Konkan
& Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during next 24 hours and increase
thereafter.
 Isolated rain/thundershowers is likely over the rest
region.
 CENTRAL INDIA
 [M.P., CHHATTISGARH, VIDARBHA]
 Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely over the region.
 Warning (valid for next 48 hours):
 Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Assam
& Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal &
Sikkim.
 Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Tamil Nadu,
Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
 Weather Outlook from  0830  IST of  1st September  to 0830
IST of  3rd September, 2008

 Scattered rainfall activity over northeastern states and
