India pepper, turmeric rise; chilli, jeera down
MUMBAI, May 7 (Reuters) - Indian pepper futures rose on Wednesday afternoon tracking a firm spot market where fresh export demand was emerging while arrivals were low, analysts said.
At 1:50 p.m., the benchmark June pepper NPEM8 was at 14,525 rupees per 100 kg, up 0.17 percent.
In Kochi, Kerala, the spot price was up by 26 rupees to 14,329 rupees per 100 kg.
JEERA:
Jeera futures pared early gains due to profit taking at higher levels, analysts said.
At 1:53 p.m., July jeera NJEN8 was at 11,623 rupees per 100 kg, down 0.18 percent.
In Unjha, Gujarat, spot price was up by 112 rupees to 10,650 rupees per 100 kg.
TURMERIC:
Turmeric futures hit the daily maximum upper limit tracking a firm spot market, where good demand from stockists was emerging amid lower output estimates due to reduced acreage, analysts said. Continued...
